Purpose of A Resource Coordinator

  • Assist with the operation of the reception and transcription areas with the maintenance of digitizing system, liaise with hospital staff/department to develop an effective , efficient service is met at all times, escorts and transports patients from the department to other wards /clinics.
  • Demonstrate open lines of communication shows initiative, cultural sensitivity, and promotes customer service.

Job Duties of A Resource Coordinator

  • Maintains an accurate film filing system, responsible for all retrieval of previous studies and filing of the daily used jackets according to the department guidelines.
  • Sends, receives faxes and photocopies of all required documentation.
  • Tracking and documenting all files internally and with off-site storage.
  • Maintains and orders departmental stationary and consumables in conjunction with the Technical Director.
  • Escorts and transports patients from the department to other wards /clinics.
  • Introduce yourself to the patient and explain where you are escorting the patient at all times.
  • Ensures that all patients request for copies of X-ray film and CD’s of their images are fulfilled.
  • Assisting in the operation of Transcription and Reception area.
  • Participates in staff meetings and departmental projects.
  • Demonstrates potential leadership qualities by showing initiative in co-coordinating the daily workflow through busy times.
  • Manages time efficiently and productively and completes work on schedule.
  • Initiates / co-ordinates / assists other colleagues as the workload requires.
  • All transcribed results filed / distributed / shredded in a confidential manner.
  • Maintain regular working hours as per the employee contract.
  • Upheld the hospital values as per the C-I Care Program.
  • Promotes and participates in departmental team work.
  • Promote and contribute to the overall Culture of Safety.
  • Actively participates in all quality and performance improvement activities within the department and the hospital as per the Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Program.
  • Adheres to all hospital policies, processes, procedures and standards as outlined in official documents, employee contract, job description and regulations.
  • Responds timely and accurately to all requests and inquiries (effective communication and assertiveness.
  • Communicates in a clear manner including communication through internal mail (electronic and paper) and refrains from using aggressive tones and mannerism during these.
  • Maintains open communication with all staff throughout the hospital, regulatory agencies and community.


  • High School / College certification or graduation.
  • Previous exposure to medical terminology advantageous.


  • At least 2-3 years of experience in film filing / tracking in a Medical Imaging Department.
  • Previous experience in clerical reception activities in a Hospital or Medical Imaging setting.
  • Previous experience in hospital environments, particularly Radiology departments Specialized.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English language along with a basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to co-ordinate the procedure scheduling system and management of all clerical activities.
  • Maintains calm disposition in times of crisis, extreme pressure of work.
