The Office of Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative, University of Sharjah (UoS) is presently hiring suitably qualified & experienced Head of Business Transformation Section. The incumbent will be responsible to support the development of efficient and effective business processes & workflows for the main departments under Financial and Administrative Affairs, which includes Finance, Procurement, HR, IT, Facilities Management and Planning, in addition to other service delivery departments within the University of Sharjah.

Purpose of Head of Business Transformation Section

Drive & lead all business transformation projects and initiatives owned by the VCFAA Office as well as to lead the Business Transformation section to improve and streamline workflows, to support the VCFAA portfolio directors in establishing quality charters & service level agreements and to identify, articulate and build upon opportunities for cost savings with ultimate goal of improving the experience for students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities of Head of Business Transformation Section

  • Lead the development and execution of the university’s business processes and procedures and ensure that they align with best practices and UoS’s strategic objectives.
  • Research and analyze current business processes, operations, systems, policies, and procedures for all departments under the VCFAA.
  • Establish quality charters and service level agreements for service delivery departments to ensure efficient delivery of their services.
  • Coordinate & communicate with concerned departments to help them implement business improvement changes, facilitate any required training plans and assist in project tracking and costing.
  • Provide recommendations to the Vice Chancellor/Committee on required systems and how to streamline and automate business processes and tasks, as well as assist in selecting the most suitable and relative enterprise level future driven system.
  • Establish and implement a reporting, monitoring, and evaluation framework to track all transformation actions, projects, and progress under the VCFAA’s function.
  • Lead related projects under the VCFAA’s function that help support and improve the department and the University in general.
  • Supervise the project team ensuring each member completes their work tasks accurately and on time. As well as supervise all project phases from requirement gathering to implementation.
  • Engage with concerned departments to implement business improvement changes, facilitate training plans and facilitate project tracking and costing.
  • Perform risk management analysis for each project to minimize risks and utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within UoS by refining and improving business processes & operations (using metrics and research as a guide).
  • Prepare various reports, analyses & statistic related to Business Transformation Section when requested.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or MIS or a relevant discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 12-14 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Computer Sciences is a plus.
  • Experience in successfully supporting the selection and implementation of enterprise-level applications.
  • Experience in managing teams including the development and delivery of on-the job training and mentoring.
